MediationMediation is an alternative method of resolving conflicts, the purpose of which is to arrive at an integral solution to a conflict between parties (there may be two or more people), thus avoiding the judicial instance. The guiding principles that guide and implement mediation are: confidentiality, voluntariness, orality between the parties and full communication between them, the impartiality of the mediator and the neutrality of the same against the matter brought to question. It is based on democracy, social pacification, individual and social dialogue, respect, and consensus for coexistence. It consists of the intervention of a third party in a conflict, the mediator, in order to facilitate the rapprochement of the opposing parties and to promote a negotiation process that allows to arrive at a consensual agreement accepted by the parties that puts an end to the conflict.
